Here’s how it all began today…..
Today the students of Grade 5 and 6 were a part of the 30 x30 challenge conducted in the quadrangle. The students started with a 30-minute intense aerobic workout. Where the students sweat it out with their PE teacher Ms. Margieta Rapadas and her group of students who were leading the students through the steps.
It was then followed by 30 Seconds Circuit Training where the students thoroughly enjoyed moving to the rhythmic beats of the music, but being active is not just about moving, it’s about turning the simple fitness challenge into an achievement.
The Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) - the flagship fitness initiative by H.H.Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council launched last year.
Dubai Fitness Challenge aims to take Dubai one step closer to making it the most active city in the world, allowing for increased participation from residents and in our case it’s the students of Grades 5 and 6.
Zahra from Grade 5 has this to say about the fun 30 minutes……. “After the fitness challenge I felt active. I feel that these days no one exercises because they are too busy on their devices they don’t pay much attention to exercise. This will encourage them to exercise more and become fit.”
Hima from Grade 6 shares her experience….. “The 30x30 fitness challenge was conducted in our school today. It was a fun and energetic activity. At first I was feeling very lazy and lethargic to do the steps, but after the activity I feel very energetic and active. This exercise has encouraged me and I am going to continue doing this at home as well as in school. I feel this will help students to become more fit if they dedicate some time of the day for exercise.”
It is about creating champions out of challengers, and a society of happy, healthy global citizens.
The city is moving. Are you?
