To imbibe the love for literature and to encourage our students to become passionate readers and writers the school had organized an author’s visit for the students of Grades 5 and 6.
Abie Longstaff who is a renowned children’s author shared special time with the students. Her books geared to young children include ‘The Fairytale Hairdresser series’, ‘The Magic Potions Shop’, The Trapdoor Mysteries’, ‘How to Catch a Witch’etc.
The school auditorium was filled with energy and passion as she had an interactive session with the students on how to get ideas for writing. She further discussed how she began writing and what are the problems that she faced as an author. It was an exhilarating two hours’ experience where students got to clarify their doubts and learn more about an author’s journey from a student to a well-established author.
I loved her explaination on how she started writing books,how she writes ’em and what her stories are about... Now I started looking for books by Abie Longstaff in the library
I always wanted to meet an Author.....I had a lot of fun that day especially when she gave ideas on 'How To Write A Book.'
I had fun meeting her on that day.
