Every day our students are connecting, both on line and off line. In order to promote their online identities and behavior, it is important that they understand who they are online, and who they represent off line. Thus, as educators, we encourage students to make responsible, wise choices when connecting through social media and the online world. For this reason, the school has been partnered with Common Sense Media to train students to be better digital citizens by teaching them to think critically, behave safely and participate responsibly online.
This pilot project has been taken forward for the grades 5 , 6 , 7 and 8 during ICT periods. Using a detailed plan and resources from Common Sense Education, we teach students digital literacy and citizenship skills and engage parents along the way.
You can check the website www.commonsensemedia.org/educators to learn how to harness digital media to help your child interact positively in the digital world.. Further, digital citizenship encourages responsible online and offline behavior both in and out of school.
